JT-2012326

Only one today, season about over, I'm ready for it to be over. This flower is more purple than red. Purple is hard to photograph in true color. (Purple seedling X TRIBUTE TO LINDA)

Selected these two today 6/19/12

JT-2012170
JT-2012176

Both these seedlings came from the same cross (JT-8068 X ABILENE TOM'S MAGIC). I like seedlings with contrasting colors.

This is out of my ABILENE TOM'S MAGIC. Been raining for a week. I think we must have gotten about 8 feet of rain.

JT-2012131
JT-2012136

It makes me wonder what will we  be blooming 10 years from now. All these seedlings on this blog bloomed this year.
JT-2012140
JT-2012144

I seem to never get tired of double edge seedlings.  These two are no kin. Even though both bloomed first time on the same day. I saw my first double edge seedling 10 years ago. Now I bloom hundreds.

JT-2012101
JT-2012103
Here is a couple from this year. As you can see I like double and triple edges and green. The green comes from an Agin seedling. The double edge comes from ABILENE TOM'S MAGIC. This year I did about 500 double edge seedlings.

JT-2012-302 (shade)
JT-2012-302 ( no shade)

Pictures made seconds apart. Got this one today out of my blue breeding. They actually look like this, the camera did a pretty good job.

JT-8143 (2008)
First bloom

JT-8143 (2012)

This is a good example of how a seedling will develop over time. They usually get more intense in color, larger and more substance.  I have experenced this quite a bit.

ABILENE SUNRISE (2012)
Still in a clump, not lined out yet.
At least 30 seed pods on (ABILENE SUNRISE X FORRESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN). A. SUNRISE sets a seed pod probably 75 % of the time or better.  There should be a lot of horns in this cross.  As people who know me know I do long crossed. I should have at least 150 seeds to plant in July.
JT-2012210

Out of 300 seedlings I have selected so far, this is the only two out of 20 seedlings of THIS cross that looks like what I had in mind.
JT-2012297

This is a good example of two seedlings from the same cross. (ABILENE DR. TERESA BURTON X HERE LIES BUTCH).

ABILENE DR. TERESA BURTON

Thanks Bill Maryott for the picture, I must have a dozen pictures on this computer of HLB (Agin) , but the computer keeps lying about their location. I believe HLB may produce the best pollen, in my mind, for double and triple edges.

Got these two today, (3 June 2012). Most of the wide petal double edges are coming from ABILENE TOM'S MAGIC (2012).

JT-2012283

Lori I think I will make 300 after all. Notice the number 283. Of course the blue one is from 7659. That seedling (7659) was at the end of the season, 7687 was the last one, I started at 700. This is why so many blues are coming this late in the season.
#1
#2

These  pictures were made about 10 minutes ago, one of todays selections from the water bed. One in bright sunlight one in the shade. Seedling JT-2012280. It is out of my blue hybridizing line.  If this flower were to ever make it to introduction which would be the PROPER picture to use # 1 or  #2? I don't have a clue. Neither picture was changed in any way, straight out of the camera. It looks like #1 in the sun and #2 in the shade. ???

JT-2012182
This was yesterdays bloom of this flower. When I posted yesterday I picked the bloom from day before. Notice the two blooms before this one of this flower. One was shaded the other not shaded. Which is the true color? Pollen on it again from it's pod parent ABILENE LILLIAN.
JT-2012198
This flower is a blue I got this year from my blue line.  I think I planted about 60 from this cross, ( PALACE GARDEN BEAUTY X JT-7659). The mauve color is less in this one and more blue dominating the petal. Eventually I should get one with all the mauve gone. You have to be persistant and somewhat leather headed  to hybridize. I have one from this year with more blue than this one.
