ABILENE MAN OF WAR (2014). Number 7 This flower was selected not as much as for it's looks but a GREAT pod parent for double edges

                Notice the green stripe going down the top of the scape. It is not time to cut it off yet. Wait until                  the green stripe is gone, which means Mama  is not feeding it anymore. I rarely ever lose a
             proliferation. I still have some on that are at least  3 months old. Mama can take care of her children              better than you can.

                                          This is the seedling (7659) (PALACE GARDEN BEAUTY X THE KING IS COMING) I used in the next 3 pictures.I am glad to see Dr. Poulton getting into the blue discussion. I believe we will get there and we could be well on our way.

                                         Here is another one with the mauve gone. out of the same seedling. (7659).

                                          Here again the mauve is gone. All these are coming out of a seedling I got back in 2007, It is the most dormant Daylily in my yard. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. Now all I need is the blue to go to the tip, it's already on the tip of the petals, sounds simple. I am breeding with about 30 flowers in my blues almost all are seedlings.

                                          I was glad to see the article on our quest for blue by Dr. Poulton. The problem I keep running into is the mauve in the end of the petal. This one I have had some success getting rid of the mauve on the tip of the petal. Still a long way to go.
